Job summary

UCSF is seeking an IT Desktop Field Services Technician to provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, printers and peripherals across a 7x24 environment, ensuring rapid resolution of incidents and minimal downtime.

You will work with Active Directory, endpoint management tools, and the Service Desk to document issues, communicate status updates, and deliver excellent customer service to researchers and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1 year of relevant experience in desktop support.
• Experience supporting Windows and Macintosh in a complex networked environment.
• Proficiency with MS Windows, OS X, and MS Office.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day advanced consultation, training and troubleshooting.
• Support hardware, software, network and peripheral devices.
• Document requests and resolutions in the help desk system.
• Work in a 7x24 environment with on-call rotations.
• Offer technical training and end-user instruction.
