Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Central Utility Plant Operator to manage the building's main and auxiliary systems in a mixed-use corporate environment. You will operate, repair, and perform PM on HVAC equipment, air compressors, chillers, AHUs, pumps, exhaust systems, and life-safety systems.

The role requires a high school graduate with mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and a valid state driver’s license, plus at least three years as a Building operator.

Qualifications

• High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, math ability and a positive attitude.
• Able to work with computers, automated controls and their associated operating systems.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Minimum three (3) years experience as a Building operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair and PM all plant equipment including HVAC, chillers, AHUs, pumps and life safety systems.
• Take charge of a shift and make operating decisions without supervision.
• Follow strict operating procedures for applicable equipment and two-man safety verification.
• Learn plant systems and operating procedures for main and auxiliary equipment.
• Use computers to respond to emails and complete work orders in the client-based maintenance program.
• Make rounds, document conditions and report non-standard conditions.
• Monitor building systems and notify facilities when systems malfunction.
• Perform advanced preventive maintenance and support root cause analysis.
• Be proficient with testing and analysis procedures and work flexible 24/7 shifts.
