Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Central Utility Plant Operator to manage and maintain the mechanical systems of a mixed-use corporate environment. The role involves operating HVAC equipment, chillers, AHUs, pumps, and life-safety systems, with a focus on reliability and safety.

The candidate will work 12-hour day/night shifts and participate in 24/7 coverage, perform preventive maintenance, document conditions, and support team objectives while adhering to procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and math ability.
• Able to operate computers and automated controls.
• Valid state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC, air compressors, chillers, AHUs, pumps, and life safety systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform maintenance to achieve departmental goals.
• Take charge of a shift and make operating decisions without supervision.
• Follow strict operating procedures and safety verification processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Complete work orders and document equipment conditions.
• Be available for 24/7 coverage (12-hour shifts, holidays and weekends).
