Job summary

UF Health is seeking a technician to operate stationary engines and critical mechanical systems, including chillers, boilers and generators, to ensure continuous utilities for the facility. The role supports lights, heat, ventilation, medical gases and climate control across departments.

The position requires the ability to work independently, inspect equipment, and perform basic mechanical, carpentry and electrical tasks.

Qualifications

• Must work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to inspect equipment and identify corrective conditions.
• Knowledge of hand tools, safety, blueprints, schematic diagrams and able to interpret instructions.
• Basic electricity and distribution systems knowledge.
• Basic mechanical, carpentry and plumbing repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as chillers, compressors, generators and steam boilers.
• Provide utilities such as lights, heat, ventilation, medical gases and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services to the facility.
