Role Summary:

The Main Street Academy (TMSA) in College Park, GA, is seeking an experienced Certified Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher will plan and model targeted instructional strategies, utilize instructional technology, and understand curriculum standards and assessments. Effective communication with students, staff, and parents is essential.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university (Conferred)
• Georgia certification in applicable field verifiable by the GaPSC
• Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) Consultative [FLD798]

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support small groups of struggling students, focusing on individual progress.
• Analyze student data to inform instruction and improve achievement.
• Select and implement mathematics instructional materials aligned with standards and collaborate with teachers.
• Address the needs of students with disabilities, including lifting, positioning, and signing support for deaf/hard of hearing students.
• Administer assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with due process procedures for students with disabilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principals.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and staff.
• Experience collaborating with teacher teams and adapting to needs.
• Knowledge of innovative instructional skills and current research in math instruction.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with proficiency in technology.
• Organizational skills and initiative for minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in using technology for communication, data analysis, and presentations.
