Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to oversee the production department, drive cost and quality goals, and develop a team of operators.

You will manage multiple departments and shifts, coach staff, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. The role requires post-high school education and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, including 1–3 years in people leadership, with strong communication skills and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• Post high school education is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing; 1 to 3 years managing people.
• Strong communication skills; ability to articulate and engage.
• Proficiency operating Inside UFPI with policy training and navigation.
• Experience with Citrix and maintaining email etiquette; deadlines.
• Knowledge of CI principles, including 5S and TPM; communicate their importance.
• Attention to detail in production parameters and double-check procedures.
• Forklift operation training/licensing.
• Safety-focused mindset with adherence to LOTO procedures.
• Training employees and developing safety and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manages production operation of multiple departments across shifts.
• Leads and motivates team for maximum productivity.
• Identifies problems and opportunities; drives corrective actions.
• Coaches and counsels employees; conducts performance reviews.
• Manages costs, department inventory, and safety compliance.
• Delivers reports and maintains records; participates in safety committees.
• Ensures adherence to UFP policies, procedures, and laws.
• May operate forklift; supports material movement.
• Promotes continuous improvement and TPM within the department.
