Job Description
We are seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to join a local manufacturing company on the northside of Milwaukee.
Pay: $80,000 - 90,000 plus bonus
Description:
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of hourly employees in multiple manufacturing departments to ensure the most efficient and economical performance of the operations in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. Primary areas of responsibilities include molding, machining, and assembly.
Main Job Duties:
- People management
- Lead hourly shift employees in a high volume, high product variation, union environment to meet both short-term and long-term production objectives.
- Conduct performance appraisals, attendance reviews, and recommend wage adjustments, promotions, etc. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a flexible workforce.
- Production plan fulfillment
- Utilize operational metrics and maintain an on-the-floor presence to monitor manufacturing operations, ensuring scheduled workflow, optimal use of manpower, machines, tooling, and repairs. Regularly audit labor and machine reports for accuracy and efficiency, adhering to standard production methods, rates, and schedules.
- Safety
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and labor contracts. Administer disciplinary actions when necessary. Promote adherence to safety procedures, proper use of safety equipment, and housekeeping standards. Be vigilant for hazardous conditions.
- Collaboration
- Communicate daily with managers and peers regarding operational conditions. Make recommendations for process improvements. Regularly communicate with direct reports about goals and objectives.
- Process Improvement
- Assist in developing and implementing operational solutions using lean manufacturing techniques. Identify, investigate, and analyze problems related to materials, quality, equipment, and methods, and initiate corrective actions promptly.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
