Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor for 1st shift in Port Reading, NJ. The role oversees inbound/outbound activities, labor scheduling, space utilization, and personnel management to ensure safe, efficient operations in alignment with client needs and company objectives.

You will manage daily work plans, hire and train staff, and drive performance improvements while maintaining compliance with SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
• Able to operate MHE (material handling equipment).
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities and plan improvements.
• Keep senior management and clients informed of critical issues affecting operations.
• Develop and maintain systems for managing operations, equipment and products safely and efficiently.
• Meet client KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
• Supervise receiving, warehousing and shipping to meet service and cost objectives.
• Assist in hiring, training and performance evaluations of staff.
