Job summary

United Alloy in Seguin, TX is seeking a skilled assembler to prep and assemble fabricated components per customer quality requirements and our manufacturing philosophy.

You'll work Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:00pm with OT as required, operate cranes and tools, read blueprints, and participate in a safety-driven, team-oriented environment that values ownership and problem solving. Training and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.
  • Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand and air tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Forklift certification with safety team.
  • Accurately record time and attendance in the data system.
  • Lift up to 25 lb regularly, 50 lb frequently, 100 lb occasionally with assistance.
  • Demonstrates 12 expected behaviors of an Actively Engaged Person.

Responsibilities

  • Understand cross-check concepts and inspect product per the Inspections Control Plan.
  • Accurately tag material and product per specifications.
  • Identify hardware components used in assemblies.
  • Compute decimal equivalents and fractions.
  • Count and record production activity (picking, transfers, etc).
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assignments.
  • Cross-train with paint department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

This position preps and assembles fabricated components and materials in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Performance, quality preservation, organization and efficiency are essential.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:00pm (OT as required)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspections Control Plan

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • The individual must have some exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.
  • Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Have completed forklift certification training with the safety team to operate a forklift.
  • Can record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
