Job summary

United Alloy in Janesville, WI is hiring a Paint Line Operator to prep and apply powder coatings on fabricated components. You will work 2:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Thursday, with overtime as required, contributing to quality and efficiency on the paint line.

You should have exposure to metal fabrication and powder coating processes, read blueprints, and operate line equipment and tools. Strong attention to detail and safe work habits are essential, as are good communication and

  • Experience with powder paint application and related processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance; regular lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Paint 100% of assigned hours for the length of the shift.
  • Understand and regulate powder coat application techniques and gun settings.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to maintain equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on paint line equipment.
  • Paint efficiently to meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Use equipment to check and verify paint thickness.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area on the line.

SUMMARY:

This position preps and assembles fabricated components and materials in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Performance, quality preservation, organization and efficiency are essential.

2 nd Shift 2:00 pm - 12:00 am, Monday - Thursday (OT as required)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Willing and able to paint 100% of assigned hours for the length of employment at UA
  • Understands and can execute proper powder coat application techniques
  • Understands paint gun settings and can regulate as necessary
  • Is able to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to maintain equipment
  • Understands and can execute the required PM to paint line equipment
  • Is able to paint efficiently and effectively to meet UA's paint aesthetic and customer requirements
  • Is able to use equipment to check and verify paint thickness
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • The individual must have some exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • This individual must have previous experience or exposure to powder paint application and processes
  • The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must possess manual dexterity
  • Must possess hand/eye coordination
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
