Job summary

United Alloy in Seguin, TX is seeking a skilled welder/ material handler to assemble fabricated components in accordance with customer specs and United Alloy philosophies. This onsite role covers material handling, kitting, moving materials with forklift, operating overhead cranes, and ensuring safe, efficient production on a Sunday-Thursday night shift from 10:00pm to 6:00am.

Candidates must have a valid drivers license, forklift certification, ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance,

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Certified forklift operator with at least one year of experience.
  • Ability to move at least 1,000 lbs with forklift.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, bander, shrink wrapper, forklift, tape measures and calipers.
  • Must determine material types and gauges.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must perform duties in accordance with UA and ISO requirements.
  • Drug screen and physical required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area.
  • Identifies materials using part numbers.
  • Counts raw materials accurately.
  • Supplies work area with materials.
  • Performs kitting responsibilities as required.
  • Documents material handling information.
  • Issues raw material to jobs and transfers locations in CSI accurately.
  • Counts and tags material prior to handling.
  • Maintains clear and safe pathways on the production floor.
  • Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices.

SUMMARY:

This position welds fabricated components, per custom or stock specifications, for sale to customers in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Monitoring welding performance and efficiency are essential.

Hours: Sunday-Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am (OT as required)
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area
  • Able to identify materials using part numbers
  • Accurately counts raw materials
  • Supplies work area with materials
  • Performs kitting responsibilities as required
  • Documents information related to the material handling of goods
  • Issues raw material to jobs and performs location transfers in CSI accurately and timely
  • Accurately counts and tags material prior to material handling
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensures clear and clean pathways to and from all outside and inside exits on the production floor daily.
  • Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Valid driver license is required (3 years semi infraction, not revocation)
  • Certified fork truck driving with at least one year of experience
  • Experience moving at least 1,000 lbs. or more with a fork truck
  • Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, bander, shrink wrapper, forklift, tape measures and calipers.
  • Must be able to determine material types and gauges
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must perform all duties in conjunction with UA and ISO requirements.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and
    occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist

  • This will be an onsite position in Seguin, Texas.
