Job summary

United Alloy in Janesville, WI is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Facilities technician to perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical servicing of fabrication equipment and plant systems. The role expects you to read maintenance tickets, follow 5S practices, and record time and labor in the ERP system.

You’ll work a 2:00pm–10:00pm shift with OT as needed, contributing to safety, quality and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Electro-Mechanical degree preferred or strong technical background in electrical, hydraulics, PLCs, pneumatics, HVAC.
  • Experience maintaining fabrication/manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and memos.
  • Basic computer/ERP skills for SRO lookups and maintenance tickets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ISO compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Follow maintenance tickets to perform PMs by due date.
  • Adhere to safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
  • Follow UAI 5S manufacturing practices and employee handbook policies.
  • Record time and labor data accurately in the system.
  • Perform general building and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Inspect, clean, and service all equipment; perform preventative maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

This position provides general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance within the facility.

Shift: 2:00pm am to 10:00pm Monday-Friday (OT as required)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Able to perform basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Follow instructions on maintenance tickets to perform PMs in accordance with due date.
  • Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
  • Understands and adheres to UAI 5S manufacturing practices.
  • Understands and adheres to UAI employee handbook policies.
  • Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments or jobs.
  • Can record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system.
  • Can perform general building and grounds maintenance.
  • Mastered use of all required equipment and hand devices.
  • Can inspect and clean all equipment.
  • Can perform all preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Electro-Mechanical degree preferred or a strong technical background in electrical, hydraulics, PLC’s, pneumatics, HVAC preferred
  • Must have experience in maintenance of fabrication and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Basis computer and ERP knowledge for looking up SRO’s, P.O. requests, and closing maintenance ticket SRO’s
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
  • Ability to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out detailed and written oral instructions.
  • Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements.
  • Frequently required to work on equipment that may contain live electrical parts, high pressure vessels/piping and spring-loaded apparatuses. Ability to read, comprehend and implement lock-out tag-out procedures is required.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • This will be an onsite position in Janesville, WI.
  • If selected for the role, a drug screen and physical will be conducted.
