Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an educator for IDEA Academy in Austin to deliver rigorous instruction, align with state standards, and track student mastery. The role emphasizes data-driven planning and proactive family communication to support college-readiness for every student.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification, with K-12 classroom experience preferred, and potential for stipends based on credentials and campus leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain within required timelines.
• Bilingual certification is strongly preferred, content and ESL certification preferred (not required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess and track each student’s progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain behavior management aligned to campus initiatives and develop students’ character.
• Engage in school-wide activities and participate in meetings as required.
