Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Austin seeks a dedicated teacher to deliver rigorous instruction aligned with state standards and IDEA curricula. You will plan and assess to drive student mastery, while engaging families and the community to support college readiness.

The role offers compensation starting at $59,500 with additional stipends for certifications and leadership roles, plus comprehensive benefits. Relocation may be considered.

Qualifications

• Content-area proficiency evidenced by certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain; bilingual/ESL certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and grade-level meetings.
• Spend 40+ hours on campus weekly.
