Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher in Texas to deliver high-quality instruction aligned with IDEA curricula and state standards. You will plan, assess, and adjust instruction while engaging families and students in a thriving learning community.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and K-12 classroom experience; Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX credentials is expected. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience (strongly preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain statewide TX training within timelines; bilingual/ESL certifications preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly; update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students' progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology effectively to enhance learning and manage tasks.
• Establish and maintain a behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and community.
• Develop relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Lead after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
