Job summary

Clark Personnel is seeking a Credit Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

1. Take orders via phone, fax, mail, and email for samples, broadloom, luxury vinyl flooring, and coordinating trim
2. Handle a high volume of incoming calls each day (up to 120-150 calls)
3. Monitor orders to ensure shipping occurs within 24-48 hours
4. Handle custom color orders, strike-off requests, custom contracts, and specialty backing/cove base orders
5. Verify accounts, provide pricing and delivery information, and resolve customer issues
6. Check stock for current, dropped, and promotional products; reserve carpet for orders
7. Provide product specifications, including pattern repeat, weight, pile height, and density
8. Convert measurements and pricing across units (e.g., square yards to linear feet)
9. Follow up with customers regarding order status and verify order details
10. Collaborate across departments to ensure excellent customer service

Position Requirements:

1. Hard skills: Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute (typing test required); strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages); ability to convert measurements and pricing across units
2. Soft skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; pleasant, patient, and professional phone manner; excellent listening and comprehension skills; strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities; dependable with a positive attitude; able to work independently under minimal supervision and manage a heavy workload
