Job summary

KIPP Northern California is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in core academic areas and behavior management, both in-person and virtually. You will assist the Lead Teacher in small groups or one-on-one settings, ensuring a safe, orderly learning environment and adapting materials for diverse learners.

This 12-month position pays $20.00-$24.00 per hour, with an additional 60 days of school-break pay, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus additional degrees or

Qualifications

  • Paid or volunteer experience working with students or children in an academic or behavioral support setting.
  • Title I paraprofessionals whose duties include instructional support must have: High school diploma or the equivalent, and A.A. degree or B.A. degree (or minimum 48 units in process) or Pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment (passing score = 460)

Responsibilities

  • Tutor, reinforce, or follow up learning activities in core academic, language, and/or specialized subject areas in small groups or one-to-one.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom and learning environment.
  • Prepare and set up instructional materials and equipment for classroom activities; maintain instructional material and equipment.
  • Assist in curriculum modifications for students.
  • Provide testing accommodations and supervise tests when needed.
  • Review and correct student work assignments.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans with positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships between students with disabilities and non-disabled peers.
  • Model appropriate behavior and provide emotional support and guidance to students.
  • Support students on field trips and school assemblies or productions.
  • Assist with life skills activities such as transportation, shopping, and ordering food as directed by Education Specialist.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines per CDC/CDE/public health guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
