Job summary

Olympia School District seeks a 1:1 Paraeducator to assist certificated staff with IEP goals and student support. You will create materials, collect data, and maintain confidential records to enable effective education for students with special needs.

The role includes health care assistance, behavior support, and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, successful learning environments across settings.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with approved assessments or college credits.
• Criminal Fingerprint Clearance is required.
• Experience with school age children in special education is preferred.
• Willingness to participate in required trainings and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with IEP plan implementation and related goals.
• Create educational materials to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Collect and communicate data to help evaluate student progress.
• Administer first aid and address health care needs as required.
• Maintain student files and confidentiality of records.
• Monitor students to ensure a safe learning environment and appropriate accommodations.
• Support other staff to implement student programs and objectives.
• Collaborate with team to evaluate progress and adjust plans.
