Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support a student inside the classroom or in a self-contained setting. This role involves transportation support, personal care, and implementing IEP plans under teacher guidance.

Responsibilities include assisting with academic activities, student safety, and collaboration with families. Experience with paraeducator duties and CPR/First Aid training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and PESB paraeducator eligibility.
• Optionally an associate degree or higher or apprenticeship in paraeducation.
• Any valid state-required certifications or assessments.

Responsibilities

• Accompany student to and from school via district transport.
• Support in general education classrooms and with personal care needs.
• Assist with toileting duties and tube feeding training as provided.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as required.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians and school staff on IEP goals.
• Monitor behavior and maintain student records and files.
• Contribute to a safe, positive learning environment.
