Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks a paraeducator to work 1:1 with a special needs student under the supervision of a certified teacher, specialist or principal. The role supports instruction, personal care, and daily living skills to foster independence and successful learning outcomes.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional qualifications such as an AA degree, college credits, or paraeducator assessment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• AA degree or 48 college credits or passagem of paraeducator assessment test required.
• Experience or training in reading instruction, remediation, and assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support 1:1 instructional goals under supervision of a licensed teacher or administrator.
• Assist with development, implementation and evaluation of IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist with daily living skills instruction and behavior plans as needed.
• Collect and maintain data to modify IEPs and measure program effectiveness.
• Promote safety and appropriate classroom routines for the student.
