Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking a full-time 1:1 Teacher Aide in Manhattan to support a student with I/DD. You will assist in implementing individualized goals, support daily activities and help the student participate in classroom and community activities under supervision.

Prior experience with I/DD and ADL support is preferred. The role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to motivate, listen, observe and collect data to support individualized plans.

Responsibilities

• Support a school-age child with I/DD to meet goals set by teachers and services team.
• Assist with ADLs including toileting and diapering as directed.
• Provide behavioral and social supports and document progress as directed.
