Job summary

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services in New York state seeks a School-Based 1:1 Teacher Aide to provide individualized support to a student during the school day under the direction of the classroom teacher and agency supervisor.

You will implement teacher- and agency-designed strategies, assist with classroom activities, and collect observational data on performance, behavior, and engagement to guide interventions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (NYS minimum) required.
• Experience working with children, preferably in school or childcare settings.
• Successful completion of Teacher Aide Training Program before placement.
• Coursework in education, psychology, or related fields preferred.
• Bilingual skills appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to one student during the school day.
• Implement teacher- and agency-designed strategies and behavior plans.
• Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and inclusion.
• Collect observational data on student performance and engagement.
• Support daily routines while promoting safety and independence.
• Communicate with teachers, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
