Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking dedicated staff to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs within in-district classrooms.

You will implement individualized behavior support plans and help students develop important life skills in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The role involves one-on-one work, data collection, de-escalation techniques, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.
• Relevant experience in educational settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet goals set forth in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in the development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages development of social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from school locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans.
• Provide personal care support dependent on the student’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
