Job summary

Mount Vernon School District 320 Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, WA seeks a Child Specific (1:1) Paraeducator for the Special Education Resource Room. You will support the classroom teacher, assist with IEP transitions, and help maintain confidential student information with a focus on high school students with special needs.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher or two years of college (72 quarter credits).
• Ability to meet state performance standards in reading, math and writing (para-educator assessment).
• Previous successful experience with high school age children; experience with special needs preferred.
• Willingness to learn Skyward and other student data systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• IEP Transition Support planning and monthly IEPs.
• Post School Report: gather and follow up with alumni data.
• Assist with preparing documentation for IEP and re-evaluation meetings.
• Assist with IEP online student evaluations and program documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
