Job summary

Monroe High School in Monroe, WA is seeking a Paraeducator – Specialized Instructional 1:1 to support students with diverse needs. The role reports to the Building Principal and involves assisting instructional staff and following IEP goals.

Candidates must meet ESSA criteria such as completing 72 college credits or an AA/ higher degree, First Aid/ CPR/ AED, and be able to lift and supervise students. 180 school days, 5.5 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-age groups of children
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification
• I-9 employment eligibility compliance
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials and delivery of instructional programs
• Tutor individual students and small groups to reinforce learning activities
• Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities
• Direct students into safe learning activities and help shape social behaviors
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
