Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 in Pennsylvania seeks a Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator to support students with instructional, behavioral and personal care needs. You will work under the classroom teacher and program supervisor, for a full-time school-year assignment with a 6.50 hour day (9:00 am–3:30 pm), 185 days per year, earning a minimum of $20.00 per hour. The role requires PA credentials or equivalent credits and ongoing staff development.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Credential or 48 post-secondary credits or an associate degree or higher in ANY content area.
Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year; evidence of 20 hours annually as required by PA Department of Education.
Pro-ration will apply based on date of hire within the school year.
Responsibilities
Provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support as outlined in the student’s IEP.
Assist under the direction of the classroom teacher and program supervisor.
Position is for the school year and may terminate at any time based on student placement or needs.
Perform lifting or assistance with students and use CPI/SCM/QBS methods as required; training provided.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate (or willing to complete online program within 6 months of hire)
48 post-secondary credits in ANY content area
Associate degree or higher in ANY content area
20 hours staff development per school year (and evidence of 20 hours annually)
