Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 seeks a Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator to provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support as outlined in the student's Individual Education Plan. The assistant will be directed by the classroom teacher and is under the general supervision of the designated program supervisor.

The assignment of the Personal Care Assistant/1:1 Paraeducator is for a school year and could terminate at any time, based on student placement or needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PA Paraeducator Credential or equivalent must be completed or willing to complete within 6 months.
• Minimum 48 post-secondary credits or an associate degree or higher.
• Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support per the student's IEP.
• Work under the classroom teacher's direction and program supervisor's supervision.
• Assist for the full school year with potential termination based on student needs.
