Job summary

QSAC is seeking a Full Time Paraprofessional 1:1 at Whitestone Day School to provide direct behavioral support to students under the supervision of a NYS-certified teacher. The role focuses on implementing strategies from each student's Behavior Intervention Plan to help access instruction.

The position offers an 8:00 am–3:30 pm schedule, benefits, and growth opportunities within a nonprofit serving individuals with autism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clear background/fingerprint check required.
• Ability to run and safely lift up to 20 lb.
• Effective communication with students and others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.
• Aide classroom teacher as needed.
• Maintain student engagement and support student in participation in classroom activities.
• Implement proactive, reactive, and emergency strategies outlined in Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Collect and maintain behavioral data for assigned student.
• Maintain student safety.
• Maintain participant/family confidentiality.
• Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).
• Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
• Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
