Job summary

QSAC Education in Whitestone, NY invites a Part-Time Certified Occupational Therapist to join the Whitestone Day School team. The OT will implement treatment plans/IEP goals to support active participation in self-care, work, leisure, and play for students with autism.

Responsibilities include direct service, adapting approaches as students' needs change, developing plans, and supervising certified therapists assistants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current New York State OT license to practice.
• One to three years’ OT experience in a related setting preferred.
• Experience working with people with autism highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops
• Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs
• Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
• OT’s will provide collaborative education and supervision services to promote best practices and professional growth to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families
• Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties
• Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees
