Job summary

The Shore Center, Bayshore Jointure Commission, a public school for children with autism, is seeking a full-time 1:1 paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year. Six positions available to support students with special needs under certified staff guidance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma; experience with autism or as a paraprofessional is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and patience are essential. Annual salary ranges from 32,336 to 33,791 with benefits after 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required for paraprofessional role.
• Experience with students with autism is a plus but not required.
• Experience as a paraprofessional or instructional aide is a plus.
• Dedicated to helping students with special needs succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with daily activities, transitions and mobility as needed.
• Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Monitor student behavior and safety, report concerns to staff.
• Prepare and duplicate instructional materials; use AV equipment as needed.
• Provide supervision during non-instructional periods and bus arrival/departure.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver targeted instruction.
