Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 72 college credits or AA Degree.
• ParaPathways Assessment: Reading 324 & Math 325.
• ParaPro Test 455+ or Pearson 220+ or Master Teacher >65%.
• Some child development coursework or training preferred.
• Experience with children in a school environment preferred.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
• Knowledge of child development and learning styles; assist with curriculum planning.
• Skilled with office equipment and basic arithmetic; good written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals or small groups to promote student learning objectives; implement IEPs.
• Supervise students to ensure safety and well‑being in classroom, lunchroom, recess, bus duty.
• Maintain student records and assessments; assist with reports to meet requirements.
• Conduct student assessments to determine placement and evaluate progress.
• Assist certificated staff with planning and preparing curriculum, materials, and resources.
• Process students' daily work; correct, grade, and record papers; communicate progress.
• Assist students with toileting and basic hygiene needs; perform lifts as needed.
• Provide medical assistance and/or therapy sessions as directed.
• Attend meetings and training to improve knowledge and skills.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
