Job summary

BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 100-C is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers with curriculum planning, materials, and student assessments, including IEP support where needed.

Responsibilities include supervising students, maintaining records, conducting assessments, assisting with curriculum, and providing basic care as required. Eligibility requires a high school diploma or GED and meeting transcript/test requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA Degree or 72 college credits preferred/required for regular roles.
• Passing scores on required state assessments or tests (ParaPathways/ParaPro/Pearson/Master Teacher).
• Experience with children in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals or small groups to promote learning objectives and support IEP implementation.
• Supervise students to ensure safety and well-being in various settings.
• Maintain student records and assessments for reporting requirements.
• Conduct student assessments to determine placement and progress.
• Assist certificated staff with planning and preparing curriculum and materials.
• Process daily work, grade, and communicate progress to students and teachers.
• Provide basic hygiene support and assist with lifts as needed.
• Provide medical assistance or therapy sessions under supervision when required.
• Attend meetings and training to maintain skills.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
