Job summary

BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 100-C is seeking a Substitute Paraeducator to assist teachers with curriculum planning, materials preparation, and student assessments. The role includes classroom supervision, progress reporting, and support for individual and small groups of students, including special needs support as directed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred additional credentials or coursework in child development.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • AA degree or 72 quarter credits OR 48 semester credits accepted.
  • ParaPro/Praxis with passing score (455+) OR Pearson with 220+ OR Master Teacher score > 65%.
  • Some child development coursework or training preferred.
  • Experience with children in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct individuals or small groups to promote student learning objectives.
  • Supervise students to ensure safety and well-being in various settings.
  • Maintain student records and assess progress for reporting requirements.
  • Conduct student assessments for placement and progress evaluation.
  • Assist with planning curriculum, materials, and resources as needed.
  • Process daily work, correct papers, and communicate progress to students and teachers.
  • Assist with toileting and basic hygiene needs; assist with two-person lifts when required.
  • Provide medical and therapy support as directed by staff.
