Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP I) to assist adults with developmental disabilities in Covina, CA. The role emphasizes daily living support, personal care, and community participation to help individuals live more independently and safely.

We offer an hourly rate of $18.00/hr with shifts Tue, Thu, Fri mornings and afternoons. Ideal candidates are compassionate, dependable, and able to work as part of a team along with CPI/First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dependable candidate with a heart for assisting adults with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to pass standard pre-employment screenings and background checks.
• Experience or willingness to complete CPI and related trainings.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement daily routines per the IPP.
• Assist with bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
• Change undergarments or clothing when necessary.
• Prepare meals and assist with cleanup.
• Provide safe transportation in company vehicles as needed.
• Support health, safety, and well‑being at all times.
• Advocate for individuals and promote independence and quality of life.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6am - 10am & 2pm - 6pm

What You’ll Do (DSP I Duties)

As a Direct Support Professional, you will support individuals in daily living, personal care, and community participation. Your goal is to help each person live as independently, safely, and joyfully as possible.

Your responsibilities include:

Follow and implement daily routines per the Individual Program Plan (IPP)

Assist with bathroom needs and personal hygiene

Change undergarments or clothing when necessary

Prepare meals and assist with cleanup

Provide safe transportation in company vehicles as needed

Support health, safety, and well-being at all times

Advocate for individuals and promote their independence and quality of life.

Required Education & Experience

DSP Year 1 Certifications (per Title 17)

First Aid / CPR

CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification - we can provide

Must be at least 21 years old

Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings, including background check

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
