Redwood Family Care Network is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Irvine, CA to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living. The role involves ADL support, meal prep, transportation, and cooperation with IPP/ISP goals.

We offer comprehensive benefits and a $500 sign-on bonus. Must have 1 year of related experience, a CA driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check. New hire orientation is in-person.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California Driver’s License required.
• Background check successful completion required.
• First Aid / CPR certification preferred or to be obtained.
• CPI training preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in daily lives, including dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in IPP/ISP.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle and record mileage reimbursement.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and support social activities with peers.
• Report incidents and communicate with administrators daily.
• Provide meals and assist with cleanup; support with ADLs as needed.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients (visual and active) as written in the Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.
• Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• May need to transport clients in a personal vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
