Job summary

Turkcell Global Bilgi is seeking an experienced Virtualization/Server Infrastructure professional to manage and optimize the virtualized environment across Windows and Linux systems. The role focuses on high availability, capacity planning, and security, with extensive VMware stack expertise.

Responsibilities include maintenance, DR readiness, automation scripting, and collaboration with IT teams and vendors to ensure service availability and roadmap alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of total professional experience in the relevant field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in supporting Server Infrastructure (hardware, Unix/Linux & Windows OS), including installation, configuration, management, troubleshooting, performance optimization, preventive maintenance, capacity planning, monitoring, and security.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in virtualization (VMware family: VCF, vSAN, vCenter, vSphere 5/6, vROPS, SRM, vRealize, Log Insight, NSX, VRNI).
• Knowledge to break down engineering tasks into sub-components and delegate to juniors.
• Preferably knowledge and hands-on experience with Hyper-converged Infrastructures (Nutanix, vSAN, vxRail, HP Simplivity, etc.).
• Preferably knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS, RAID).
• Preferably experience in building scalable, highly available virtual infrastructures, including cluster management, redundancy, and failover testing.
• Preferably knowledge of disaster recovery technologies.
• Preferably knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, ISO27001, and Service Management best practices.
• Preferably VMware certifications (VCP/VCAP).
• Ability to prepare thorough system documentation with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Providing SME for Virtualized Infrastructure; ensuring its management, maintenance, installation, and development.
• Managing and optimizing Virtualization and OS environments (Windows, Linux) for config, HA, and data accounting.
• Ensuring Service Availability and Quality through patches and tech refreshes per roadmap.
• Maintaining and restoring VM backups and snapshots.
• Generating system analyses on capacity, health, and performance to guide improvements.
• Developing and maintaining custom scripts to automate tasks and reduce manual effort.
• Outlining the support and sustainability model for the services.
• Acting as escalation point for lower-tier teams with predefined troubleshooting instructions.
• Performing advanced analysis and troubleshooting of complex issues.
• Leading RCA reviews with vendors when necessary.
• Defining policies to ensure availability, stability, security, and integrity of server infra.
• Providing Continuous Process Improvement by evaluating OS/hardware tech, versions, upgrades.
• Collaborating with other IT teams to manage and resolve complex services.
• Working with business units and external vendors across IT.
• Determining tactical solutions for support and implementation scenarios.
