Infrastructure Engineer: VMware & Windows Server

Job summary

WLG is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to provision, configure, and maintain core services across Windows and Linux environments. You will manage virtualization with VMware, SAN storage, and backup/recovery workflows, ensuring reliability and security. Strong AD, DNS, GPO, scripting, and ITIL practices are required.

The role is on-site in Izmir, Türkiye, with collaboration across IT teams and other service lines. A background in database admin and cross-platform support is a plus.

Qualifications

• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with three years of related experience, or a secondary qualification with five.
• Hands-on infrastructure and capacity management experience.
• Recent practical work with mainstream hypervisors and server virtualization.
• Depth in Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, domain naming, group policy and desktop deployment.
• Administration experience on Windows and/or Linux, including single sign-on.
• Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database experience.
• Clustering, storage and backup systems, plus server-side scripting in PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of ITIL practice and clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provision, install, configure and maintain infrastructure services and components.
• Monitor and report on infrastructure load, performance and security events.
• Support the hosted systems and clear alerts and error conditions across the server room, storage network and servers.
• Manage and operate the virtual infrastructure — VMware server and desktop virtualisation, SAN switches and integrated hardware.
• Maintain Windows core directory services and policies.
• Manage updates and patching for Windows and Linux systems.
• Administer the community databases and troubleshoot third-party application deployments.
• Administer the mail servers and help implement backup and recovery solutions.
• Coordinate daily work with the other technical units and service lines.
• Take on project work packages, and analyse and resolve assigned incident and problem tickets.
