Job summary

Avesoro Resources is seeking a Resource Geologist to support geological interpretation, 3D modelling, Mineral Resource Estimation, and evaluation of exploration/mining projects. The role requires integrating drill data with geological modelling to improve resource confidence and reporting.

The position involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure models and estimates support operational decisions and due diligence processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field is required.
• 1–2 years in exploration/mining geology or resource geology is preferred.
• Experience with 3D modelling and Mineral Resource Estimation is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret drill data and contribute to JORC/NI 43-101 reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review drillhole, geological, structural, geochemical, and assay data to support modelling and resource evaluation.
• Develop, maintain and update 3D geological and mineralisation models using Leapfrog or equivalent software.
• Support interpretation of lithology, alteration, mineralisation, weathering and structural domains.
• Prepare geological sections, plans and 3D figures for internal/external reports.
• Assist with Mineral Resource Estimates and technical reports (JORC/NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with exploration, mine geology and planning teams to integrate results.

As part of our growing operations, we are seeking a Resource Geologist to join our Geology / Technical Services team and support geological interpretation, 3D geological modelling, Mineral Resource Estimation, and the technical evaluation of exploration and mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret drillhole, geological, structural, geochemical, and assay data to support geological modelling and resource evaluation activities.
• Develop, maintain, and update 3D geological and mineralisation models using Leapfrog Geo / Leapfrog Edge or equivalent geological modelling software.
• Support geological interpretation and modelling of lithology, alteration, mineralisation, weathering, and structural domains.
• Construct and update mineralised wireframes, geological solids, sections, and interpretation domains.
• Prepare and review composited assay datasets and perform basic statistical analysis to support resource estimation.
• Assist with the evaluation of grade distributions, high-grade outliers, top-cuts, and estimation domains.
• Perform visual and statistical validation of block models against drillhole and composite data.
• Review geological continuity, drill spacing, and data density to support resource classification and geological confidence.
• Identify areas requiring infill, step-out, or additional drilling to improve geological understanding and resource confidence.
• Incorporate new drilling, sampling, and exploration results into existing geological and resource models.
• Prepare geological sections, plans, 3D figures, models, and technical presentations for internal and external reporting.
• Support the preparation and review of JORC / NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimates and technical reports.
• Assist with technical due diligence and geological evaluation of potential acquisition, investment, and joint venture opportunities.
• Collaborate with exploration, mine geology, planning, and other Technical Services teams to ensure geological models and resource information effectively support operational and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Additional training in resource geology, geostatistics, geological modelling, or Mineral Resource Estimation is an advantage.

Experience

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in exploration geology, mining geology, resource geology, or a related field.
• Practical exposure to geological interpretation, drillhole data, and 3D geological modelling.
• Experience supporting Mineral Resource Estimation or resource modelling activities is preferred.
• Previous experience within the mining or mineral exploration industry, particularly gold mining, is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding ofgeological QA/QC principles.
• Basic understanding of geological modelling, geostatistics, block modelling, and Mineral Resource Estimation concepts.
• Practical experience with Leapfrog Geo / Leapfrog Edge is preferred.
• Experience with Datamine, Supervisor, or similar geological and resource estimation software is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of assay compositing, statistical analysis, geological domains, and block model validation principles is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of JORC and/or NI 43-101 reporting frameworks is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong geological interpretation and spatial thinking abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and technical accuracy.
• Ability to analyze geological information and identify trends, inconsistencies, and data gaps.
