Karub Holding is building an international portfolio of gold and precious-metals exploration projects and is seeking an experienced Project Geologist to join its growing Exploration Team.
The successful candidate will initially be based in Istanbul, Türkiye, supporting exploration planning, geological interpretation, target generation, and project evaluation. The role also includes leading and participating in international field programs, with a primary focus on the Birimian Greenstone Belt of West Africa.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious exploration geologist seeking long-term international career development within gold exploration and early-stage mining projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in gold and precious-metals exploration programs from target generation through drill testing.
- Conduct geological mapping, lithological and structural logging, and detailed field investigations.
- Execute and supervise auger, trenching, channel sampling, and reconnaissance exploration programs.
- Plan, supervise, and monitor RC and diamond drilling campaigns while coordinating drilling contractors and field crews.
- Perform high-quality drill core logging, sampling, and geological documentation.
- Design and manage sampling programs in accordance with industry-standard QA/QC procedures, including Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), blanks, duplicates, and chain-of-custody protocols.
- Interpret geological, structural, alteration, and multi-element geochemical datasets to generate and prioritize exploration targets.
- Integrate geological, geochemical, geophysical, and remote sensing datasets to support exploration decision-making.
- Produce geological maps and spatial analyses using ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, or equivalent GIS software.
- Support 2D and 3D geological modelling using Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine, or comparable software.
- Contribute to exploration strategy, prospect ranking, drill targeting, and project evaluation.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports and exploration summaries supporting JORC Code and NI 43-101 reporting standards.
- Participate in international field assignments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and mercury-free (Minamata-aligned) exploration practices.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or Geology (MSc is considered an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mineral exploration or project geology.
- Demonstrated experience in metallic mineral exploration; gold exploration experience is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of structural geology, mineral systems, alteration mapping, and ore-forming processes.
- Experience with drill planning, drill supervision, core logging, sampling, and geological data management.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills with geological, geochemical, and spatial datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within Birimian or other Precambrian greenstone belts.
- Knowledge of orogenic gold systems and structural controls on mineralisation.
- Experience with 3D geological modelling software (Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine).
- Familiarity with exploration database platforms such as acQuire or DataShed.
- Working knowledge of JORC Code and NI 43-101 reporting standards.
- Previous experience working in remote international exploration environments.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- French or Arabic is highly desirable for West African operations.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work in remote exploration camps.
- Ability to work effectively within multicultural teams.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, systematic, and results-oriented.
- No international travel restrictions.
- For male candidates, military service must be completed or exempt.
Location
- International field assignments will primarily support exploration programs across West Africa, with additional opportunities in other international project areas.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to contribute to international gold and precious-metals exploration projects.
- Exposure to project generation, target development, and resource growth activities.
- A modern exploration culture built on scientific reasoning, disciplined QA/QC, and responsible mercury-free (Minamata-aligned) exploration practices.
- Dynamic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative working environment.
- Long-term career development with increasing technical and leadership responsibilities.
- Competitive remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.
