Job summary

Intertech Information Technology and Marketing Inc. is seeking a middleware/DevOps engineer to work on middleware platforms, Kubernetes infrastructure, and automation.

You will install, configure, monitor, and optimize products like Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Layer7, and MuleSoft, while managing OpenShift and Google Anthos environments and Service Mesh architectures. Qualifications

• Experience in Linux operating systems.
• Experience with container technologies, Kubernetes ecosystem, and DevOps culture.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift and/or Google Anthos.
• Knowledge/experience with middleware components.
• Participation in installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, capacity, performance, and version management of Redis, RabbitMQ, Confluent Kafka/Flink, Layer7, MuleSoft.
• Interest in cluster health, capacity management, resource utilization in Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Active responsibility for platform layer, resource efficiency, continuity, and operational integration of Kubernetes platforms.
• Knowledge of Service Mesh architectures (e.g., Gloo Mesh).
• Interest in tools for resource efficiency in Kubernetes (ScaleOps).
• Knowledge of IIS core components and operational management.
• Experience with APM/observability solutions.
• Experience in performance monitoring, metrics, capacity utilization, and alarms.
• Root cause analysis for performance problems.
• DevOps & automation tools: CI/CD, GitOps, Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Bash/PowerShell, Nexus.

Responsibilities

• Manage middleware platforms, Kubernetes infrastructure, and DevOps/automation processes.
• Operate middleware apps like Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Flink, Layer7, MuleSoft.
• Install, configure, monitor, capacity, performance, and version updates for these products.
• Oversee Kubernetes/OpenShift platform health, capacity monitoring, and resource optimization.
• Work with Service Mesh architectures (Gloo Mesh, etc.).
• Improve product usage, traffic management, secure service communication, and traceability.
• Analyze cluster resource consumption with ScaleOps and similar tools.
• Support operational work related to core components in IIS environments.
• Manage metrics, dashboards, alarms, and monitoring with Grafana and Dynatrace.
• Define monitoring metrics and alarm mechanisms for middleware, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Automate manual tasks with Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Jenkins, ArgoCD.
• Participate in CI/CD, GitOps, deployment, artifact management, and automation.
• Apply version updates, patches, and maintenance for middleware and Kubernetes.
• Follow up on vulnerabilities and coordinate action with teams.
• Improve security, performance, continuity, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams.

We are looking for a team member to work on middleware applications, Kubernetes platforms, DevOps culture, automation, traceability, resource optimization, and operational improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Experienced in Linux operating systems
• Experienced in or willing to develop skills in container technologies, the Kubernetes ecosystem, and DevOps culture
• Experience working with Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift and/or Google Anthos
• Knowledge and/or experience with middleware components
• Able to participate in the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, capacity, performance, and version management processes of products such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Confluent Kafka/Flink, Layer7, and MuleSoft
• Interested in or experienced in cluster health, common services, performance and continuity, core components, resource utilization, and capacity management in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
• Able to take active responsibility for platform layer, common components, resource efficiency, continuity, capacity management, and operational integration of Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift and Google Anthos
• Knowledgeable about Service Mesh architectures or open to development in this area (Gloo Mesh, etc.)
• Interested in tools that provide resource efficiency and capacity optimization in Kubernetes environments (ScaleOps, etc.)
• Knowledge of IIS core components, common configurations, and operational management.
• Experience working with APM and observability solutions: Dynatrace, Grafana, AppDynamics, etc.
• Experienced in application and platform performance monitoring, metric tracking, capacity utilization, and alarm management.
• Able to analyze performance problems and identify root causes.
• Knowledge of DevOps and automation tools: CI/CD, GitOps, Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Bash/PowerShell, Nexus, or similar artifact repository solutions.

What You'll Do

• As a middleware team, we are responsible for three main areas: middleware platforms, Kubernetes infrastructure, and DevOps/automation processes.
• Managing the operational aspects of middleware applications such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Confluent Kafka, Confluent Flink, Layer7, and MuleSoft.
• Actively participating in the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, capacity, performance, and version update processes of these products.
• Participating in the operational management, continuity, capacity monitoring, resource optimization, cluster health, and platform health processes of Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift and Google Anthos.
• Working with Service Mesh architecture, including Gloo Mesh, etc.
• Working on product usage, management, traffic management, secure service communication, traceability, and operational continuity issues.
• Analyzing cluster resource consumption with ScaleOps and similar tools, and supporting capacity and resource optimization efforts.
• Supporting operational work related to commonly used core components and configurations in IIS environments.
• Managing metric, dashboard, alarm, and performance monitoring processes with traceability tools such as Grafana and Dynatrace.
• Defining monitoring metrics, creating and maintaining alarm mechanisms for middleware applications, Kubernetes platforms, and Service Mesh components under responsibility.
• Conducting root cause analysis for performance problems and developing permanent solutions.
• Improving manual and routine operational tasks with automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
• Actively participating in CI/CD, GitOps, deployment, artifact management, and automation processes within the DevOps culture.
• Executing version updates, patches, and maintenance processes for middleware applications, Kubernetes platforms, and common components under responsibility.
• Following up on vulnerability and security findings and taking coordinated action with relevant teams.
• To make improvements to enhance the security, performance, continuity, and operational efficiency of systems.
• To work closely with application, security, infrastructure, and other technology teams.
