Job summary

BilgeAdam Technologies GmbH in Turkey is seeking a Video Support Engineer to join the live events operations team. You will monitor TOD encoding and delivery, perform first-line incident response, and keep services healthy during broadcasts, with shift-based coverage.

You will troubleshoot IPTV and OTT workflows, work with Harmonic, Akamai and other vendors, maintain runbooks, and contribute to post-incident reviews.

Qualifications

• University degree in a related engineering field.
• 3+ years experience in broadcast systems, DTV, or OTT environments.
• Understanding of video standards and formats — SD/HD/UHD, MPEG-TS, HLS, DASH.
• Experience with CDN-based content delivery (Akamai, CloudFront).
• Experience with OTT video backends (Harmonic VOS360, AWS Elemental, Unified Streaming, Ateme Titan).
• Understanding of DRM technologies (PlayReady, Widevine, FairPlay).
• Experience with monitoring and QoE tools (Conviva, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Telestream, TAG).
• Basic scripting (Shell, Python) for operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and performance of TOD encoding and video delivery during live events.
• Provide shift-based operational coverage aligned to live-event calendars.
• Detect, triage, and resolve first-line incidents using runbooks and predefined procedures.
• Monitor viewer experience (QoE) and address degradations in startup time, buffering, and playback errors.
• Escalate to engineering and third-party vendors when needed and follow through to resolution.
• Support CMS and video back-end issues in coordination with engineering.
• Record incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure clean handover and operational readiness of live systems.
• Maintain runbooks and reference materials and flag gaps to engineers.
• Complete tasks to a high standard within agreed timeframes.
