Job summary

Xsolla in İstanbul, Türkiye, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Software Development Director to lead our global engineering function. You will drive high-impact technical initiatives, oversee distributed teams delivering scalable, secure products for millions of users worldwide.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software development, 5+ years in leadership, and a track record of aligning engineering with business goals.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software development, including 5+ years in engineering leadership.
Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional engineering teams in high-growth environments.
Strong expertise in modern architectures, cloud infrastructure, and microservices.
Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies, CI/CD practices, and engineering metrics.
Experience managing distributed teams across multiple geographies.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Willingness and ability to relocate to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certifications in cloud technologies, Agile practices, or technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with company objectives.
Provide architectural and organizational guidance to ensure long-term scalability and success.
Lead, mentor, and develop multiple engineering teams, including team leads and senior developers.
Establish clear goals and create growth opportunities across a global, distributed team.
Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of product and platform initiatives.
Continuously optimize workflows, development methodologies, and technical decision-making.
Guide the evolution of system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Champion the adoption of modern technologies and development practices.
Partner closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and executive stakeholders to align priorities, define technical requirements, and maintain a shared roadmap.
Identify and mitigate risks across the development lifecycle.
Promote best practices in observability, security, testing, and release management.
Foster a high-performance culture grounded in transparency, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to quality and innovation.
