Job summary

NOVEX Elevator & Escalator in Istanbul is seeking an on-site Elevator Operator to ensure the safe, efficient operation of both passenger and freight elevators. This full-time position focuses on monitoring performance, assisting passengers, and maintaining a calm response to any issues.

You will perform basic visual inspections, report malfunctions to maintenance, follow established procedures and safety regulations, and provide courteous directions to building occupants to support smooth daily

Role Description

The Elevator Operator will oversee the safe and efficient operation of passenger and freight elevators at an on-site location in Istanbul. This full-time role includes monitoring elevator performance, assisting passengers with entry and exit, and responding calmly and promptly to any elevator issues or emergencies. The Elevator Operator will perform basic visual inspections, report malfunctions or safety concerns to maintenance teams, and follow established operating procedures and safety regulations. The role also involves providing courteous customer service, offering directions or information to building occupants, and maintaining a clean, orderly elevator environment. The Elevator Operator will work closely with facility management and technical staff to support smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow safety protocols, emergency procedures, and building regulations, with strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and a courteous manner when assisting passengers.
• Basic technical understanding of elevator operation, with the ability to recognize irregularities and promptly report issues to maintenance personnel.
• Reliability in timekeeping, consistency in shift coverage, and the ability to perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move safely within elevator and building areas.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in building operations, facilities, or security is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Istanbul and collaborate effectively with diverse colleagues and building occupants.
