Job description

About the Position

We are looking for an AWP Planning Engineer to join our large-scale industrial project in the Ust Luga Region of Russia. As a company known for delivering international‑scale projects, we seek professionals and young talents who would play a key role in supporting the project in the field and engineering processes outside the construction site.

Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is a construction‑driven project delivery framework designed to improve productivity and predictability in large‑scale capital and industrial construction projects. By breaking massive scopes into manageable Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and highly detailed Installation Work Packages (IWPs), it ensures project teams receive optimal workflow sequencing. Consequently, this role holds critical importance to the success of the project by planning and coordinating workface (locations in the project area) activities. Ideal candidates have a strong grasp of engineering and construction principles, as well as project planning and management techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with project teams to develop workface plans that meet project requirements and timelines,
  • Identifying potential issues and constraints that may impact workface planning and developing strategies to mitigate them,
  • Developing detailed Installation Work Packages (CWPs/ IWPs) involves determining component types and tags, mapping engineering deliverables, mapping Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and Bill of Materials (BoM), 3D Snapshots and/or marked up drawings,
  • Reviewing engineering documents and drawings to identify any potential issues that may arise during the CWP/ IWP execution,
  • Reviewing material availability to identify any potential issues that may arise during the CWP/ IWP execution,
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to workface planning and execution. Potential issues such as missing materials or drawings, incomplete scaffolding, inadequate equipment or labor, and unresolved predecessor activity issues must be addressed and resolved before starting a work pack,
  • Requesting materials from the warehouse and having them delivered to the work site as Installation Work Packages (IWPs) are included in the weekly plans,
  • Monitoring the progress of IWPs and providing regular updates to the project teams,
  • Coordinating with site engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that workface plans are executed effectively and efficiently,
  • Maintaining accurate records of workface planning activities and outcomes,
  • Understanding the safety and quality requirements of the project's scope,
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering,
  • 1-5 years of experience at Construction, Power & Heat, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects,
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (ASME, EN) related to industrial projects; knowledge of GOST (or ГОСТ) standards and regulations is a big plus,
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs, MS Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, etc.,
  • Fluent in English, a good command of Russian is a big plus,
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams,
  • Ability to work and lead well under pressure in a fast‑paced work environment,
  • Highly motivated and detail‑oriented character,
  • Willing and able to work abroad on a long‑term basis.
What Awaits You?
  • Opportunity to be part of a large‑scale, high‑profile international project,
  • A dynamic work environment with a strong and experienced team,
  • A chance to accelerate your career within a solid organizational structure.
Benefits We Offer
  • Rotation Schedule: A rotation plan of either 120 workdays + 10 days off or 180 workdays + 15 days off,
  • Shuttle Service: Regular transportation service between residential areas and the project site,
  • Employee Health: On‑site infirmaries, access to company doctors and private health insurance,
  • Accommodation Support: Camp accommodation will be provided.
