Job summary

Henkel is seeking an Automation Engineer to ensure reliability and efficiency of electrical and automation systems in our manufacturing operations. You will join the Maintenance team to support electrical and automation maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime across the plant.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens PLC (Step 7 / TIA Portal) and SCADA, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and documentation in the maintenance system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on electrical maintenance and industrial automation experience.
• Experience with Siemens PLC Step 7 / TIA Portal and SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and automation preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe operation of production equipment.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Siemens PLC (Step 7 / TIA Portal) and SCADA systems.
• Maintain maintenance documentation in the CMMS and ensure compliance with safety standards.

About this Position

Join us as an Automation Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical and automation systems within our manufacturing operations. As part of the Maintenance team, you will support electrical and automation maintenance activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability across the plant.

What You´ll Do

• Perform and support electrical and automation preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of production equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and automation breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and availability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support Siemens PLC (Step 7 / TIA Portal) and SCADA systems.
• Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems.
• Ensure maintenance and breakdown-related documentation is accurately maintained in the maintenance management system.
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety, quality, and maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure the continuity and reliability of manufacturing operations.
• Participating in Process Safety and HAZOP activities with safety team.
• Support to improvement of facilities electrical infrastructure.
• Being responsible for conducting mandatory electrical inspections.

What makes you a good fit

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is required.
• 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands‑on experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation systems.
• Practical knowledge and experience with Siemens PLC (Step 7 / TIA Portal) and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive/predictive maintenance practices.
• Experience with packaging, filling, or preparation processes is preferred.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
