AIR IMPORT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
About the Position
WELD is looking for an Air Import Operations Specialist to join our Air Import Department.
The position is responsible for managing and coordinating the entire air import operation process, from shipment pick-up to final delivery, in line with Incoterms, customer requirements and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage import operations by communicating with overseas agents,
- Prepare and follow up on Agent Shipping Orders and bill of lading instructions,
- Plan shipment schedules and keep operational data updated in the system,
- Monitor shipment departure, transit and arrival processes on a daily basis,
- Coordinate with airlines, warehouses, overseas agents and relevant operational teams,
- Verify and confirm shipment reservations with airlines,
- Review pre-alert documents, create shipment files and maintain accurate operational records,
- Create and monitor revenue and cost items related to shipment files,
- Coordinate consolidation processes and prepare consolidation plans,
- Keep customers informed about shipment status, arrival information and operational developments,
- Send Arrival Notices and freight invoices to customers,
- Follow up on payment and document release processes for prepaid shipments,
- Issue revenue invoices and control, request and process supplier/agent cost invoices,
- Monitor e-invoice processes and ensure accurate accounting system integration,
- Ensure all shipment documentation is complete and properly archived,
- Coordinate door-to-door deliveries with customs brokers, airport operations, agents and transportation suppliers,
- Manage loss, damage and delay cases with airlines, insurance companies and overseas agents,
- Immediately report operational issues to the relevant manager and customer,
- Prepare operational reports and presentations when required,
- Direct shipments belonging to other departments to the relevant teams,
- Ensure all operational records are maintained accurately, completely and on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Associate or Master’s degree,
- 2–4 years of experience in air cargo, logistics or international transportation,
- 3–5 years of overall professional experience,
- B2 level of English proficiency,
- Advanced MS Office skills,
- Good knowledge of international transportation, Incoterms, operational documentation, payment and delivery terms,
- Strong follow-up, process management and problem-solving skills,
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with customers, agents, suppliers and internal teams,
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast‑paced operational environment,
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills,
- Commercial awareness and sensitivity to costs and profitability,
- Strong negotiation and communication skills,
- High level of business ethics, reliability and consistency,
- Ability to take initiative and respond quickly to operational issues.
What You Will Do at WELD
You will take an active role in end‑to‑end air import operations, working closely with international agents, airlines, customers, customs brokers and internal teams while ensuring that shipments are managed efficiently and delivered on time.
