Engine Technician (Marine)
Job summary
A mechanical services company based in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician to work on diesel engine components. The role involves disassembling, cleaning, and testing various engine parts while ensuring adherence to safety standards. Candidates should be prepared to travel to customer sites and maintain an organized workspace. Experience with mechanical fitting and assembly is essential.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and test diesel engine components.
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly tasks based on manuals.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to 5S standards.
- Work with quality inspectors to resolve non-conformities.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety analyses.
- Travel to customer sites and follow safety procedures.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and test diesel engine components including cylinder heads, fuel pumps, turbochargers, pistons, and connecting rods.
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly tasks in accordance with technical drawings, service manuals, and job instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by managing tools properly and adhering to 5S standards.
- Work closely with quality inspectors to identify, address, and resolve any non-conformities.
- Take part in toolbox meetings, job safety analyses, and team discussions on work progress and safety matters.
- Travel to customer sites, vessels, shipyards, and offshore locations as required, following all site-specific safety and access procedures.
