URGENT: Senior/Procurement Engineer (mechanical/structure)
Job summary
A recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a skilled procurement professional specialized in mechanical engineering. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop procurement strategies, and negotiate contracts. Ideal candidates should have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least three years of experience in procurement, preferably in the semiconductor industry. Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management proficiency are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain role.
- Proficient in analyzing procurement data and making data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to evaluate suppliers for mechanical components.
- Negotiate contracts for timely delivery and cost-effective procurement.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs.
Skills
Education
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for mechanical and structural components
- Negotiating contracts and service level agreements to ensure timely delivery and cost‑effective procurement
- Conducting thorough market research to stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, new technologies, and competitive pricing
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs and streamline the supply chain
- Analyzing procurement data and providing recommendations for process improvements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and quality standards
- Mentoring and providing guidance to more junior members of the procurement team
- Min Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a procurement or supply chain role, preferably within the mechanical engineering / semiconductor industry
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and structural components, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in negotiating and managing supplier relationships, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data‑driven decisions
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiency
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices
