Job Description & Requirements

Position Summary

The Youth Worker will play a crucial role in implementing Resilient Minds programs within secondary schools, working closely with at‑risk students to provide guidance, support, and a positive, trusting environment. This role involves direct engagement with students, facilitating group activities, providing one‑on‑one mentorship, and collaborating with school staff to support each student’s emotional, social, and academic growth. Objectives include that the Youth Worker (YW) will support the school in planning and implementation of activities, including managing, mentoring and supervising the students in the UPLIFT and Educational Support Programme (ESP).

Working Hours
  • Marsiling Secondary School
  • 5x a week, Monday to Friday (19th January - 20th November 2026)
    1. 10:30am - 1:30pm/4:30pm (every wednesday)
    2. 1:30pm - 4:30pm
    3. Holiday Programmes: 8:30am -5:30pm (selected dates only)

    Note: It will take 6-8 weeks for approval so please apply anytime. This is mandatory to work in any schools in Singapore.

Duties for Youth Worker 1 ($30-$35/hr)

  • Daily: Supporting the KPs in various UPLIFT groups and ESP programmes
  • Weekly (1 or 2 days): Conduct a self‑customised mentoring programme for the selected group of students
  • Supporting the school in managing students with behavioural issues

Duties for Youth Worker 2 ($30-$35/hr)

  • Daily: Managing ASE room and activities and support KPs in other relevant activities.
  • Weekly (1 day): Conduct a self‑customised programme for the selected group of students
Key Responsibilities

The Services required are set out as follows:

  1. To provide social and emotional support to identified students through daily interaction via mentoring and counselling
  2. To support the holistic development of identified students by connecting with them through building of positive relationships and planning of events/activities
  3. To support the Key Personnel (KP) in the planning and conducting of intervention and engagement activities in building a sense of belonging to the school and developing character in the identified students through positive discipline
  4. To provide feedback on activities and the identified students through observation and experience, raise concerns on any issues, and highlight the needs of the identified students to the KP for further intervention or support. To provide written reports on these matters
  5. To manage all related administrative duties and relevant data
  6. To support the KP in external engagement of the identified students namely out of school activities and house visits
  7. To support the School Personnel (SP) in all activities and groups under UPLIFT and ESP
Qualifications and Skills

• Youth Workers supplied by the Contractor shall be registered with the Ministry of Education.

• Youth Workers are required to be registered Social Workers in Singapore or be supervised by a registered Social Worker and have at least 3 years experience or training in fields related to social and emotional learning.

• A tertiary qualification in counselling/psychology/social work, or relevant experience and expertise.

• All Youth Workers should be able to engage and motivate the students in acquiring knowledge and skills via hands‑on approach and be skilled in facilitation.

• He/ she should have a passion and disposition for working with at‑risk students and their families, and a positive belief in their potential.

All Youth Workers should be competent to handle the tasks and responsibilities assigned.
