Job summary

Recruit Now Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a WWTP Process Engineer to operate, monitor, and optimize industrial and hazardous wastewater treatment at the plant. You will provide technical judgment, troubleshoot processes, and support EHS compliance, discharge standards, and efficiency.

Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial wastewater, with hands-on operation in advanced oxidation, biological treatment, or related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial wastewater or hazardous wastewater treatment
• Hands-on operational experience in advanced oxidation, biological treatment, or related systems preferred
• Ability to independently perform process evaluation, troubleshooting, and parameter optimization
• Strong understanding of wastewater quality parameters and their impact on treatment systems
• Good communication with operations, lab teams, and management

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and optimize industrial and hazardous wastewater treatment processes at the WWTP
• Adjust operating parameters based on influent water quality variations (COD, BOD, SS, oil & grease, toxicity)
• Evaluate incoming wastewater streams and determine suitable treatment routes
• Plan bench-scale tests (jar tests, pilot trials) to verify feasibility
• Provide technical recommendations to support operations and commercial decisions
• Handle actons for effluent non-compliance, membrane fouling, and process instability
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and propose CAPA
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, operating parameters, and technical reports
• Guide technicians and laboratory staff on sampling and on-site adjustments
• Ensure safe operation of chemical systems and ABS units in compliance with EHS
